Dr. Lee Lee Presents Special Award to Legendary British Girl Group Mis-Teeq in London

Dr. Lee Lee, chairman of the 8th World Pop Music Awards, presented a special award to Mis-Teeq, the legendary British girl group that represented the UK pop music scene in the early 2000s, during an event held in London, United Kingdom.
According to the organizing committee, Dr. Lee Lee presented the special award on June 6, London local time, to Sabrina Washington, the group’s main singer, who attended the event on behalf of Mis-Teeq. The award ceremony carried particular significance as it was held in London, one of the world’s leading centers of the music industry, together with the 2nd London Awards Ceremony.
Mis-Teeq was one of the most influential British girl groups of the early 2000s, leading the UK popular music scene with a distinctive blend of UK garage, R&B, and pop. The group enjoyed major popularity at the time, placing seven singles in the UK Top 10, including “Scandalous,” “All I Want,” and “One Night Stand.”
Member Alesha Dixon later continued her career as a singer and television personality, gaining further recognition as a judge on the British audition program Britain’s Got Talent. Mis-Teeq is also drawing renewed attention from fans as the group is scheduled to perform at OVO Arena Wembley in London on September 12 to mark the 25th anniversary of its debut album.

Dr. Lee Lee’s visit to London is attracting attention as part of the World Pop Music Awards’ broader international expansion. The organizing committee said Dr. Lee Lee has been holding a series of meetings with global artists and producers in London, strengthening the awards’ international network for future collaborations.
In addition, Arrow Benjamin, the artist known for his work on “Runnin’ (Lose It All)” with global superstar Beyoncé, has reportedly confirmed his participation in the 8th World Pop Music Awards.
“We are connecting the world through the universal language of music and creating the happiest awards ceremony where artists from around the world can communicate with their fans,” Dr. Lee Lee said.
The World Pop Music Awards is expanding its role beyond a traditional awards ceremony by honoring legendary artists such as Mis-Teeq while also building active exchanges with top domestic and international musicians, producers, and rising stars. The event is increasingly positioning itself as a global music festival and a key platform connecting artists with fans.
As Dr. Lee Lee continues to honor musical heritage while promoting new global collaborations, attention is now focused on what new direction the World Pop Music Awards will bring to the international pop music scene in the second half of this year.
